This past weekend, we got to enjoy lots of family time. We started off with a bowling party for Kurt's work on Friday night. The bowling alley was much more high tech than we are used to in the big city of Nowata. The lanes had automatic bumpers that came up & went down when it was the kids turn in the line up, so Kaleb got to bowl on his own. He insisted on getting the ball out of the return & doing everything by himself. (we are going through a very independent stage.) I was very afraid that we were going to leave with a broken toe, but we manged through without incident. Kaleb had a great time, playing with his friend Hope & bowling all by himself. On the way home, he kept telling Kurt, "Thanks for taking me to your party Dad."

On Saturday morning, we headed over to Sunfest. We walked around and looked at the booths and then watched the Frisbee dogs. Kaleb really enjoyed the show. I took my camera with us, but forgot to get it out to take any pictures.
After Sunfest, we headed off to the lake. It was a pretty windy day, but we were able to do plenty of fun things. Kaleb got to go fishing with Dad & Grandpa. I wasn't sure how long that would last, but Kaleb really surprised me & stayed with it a long time. He even went back several more times over the weekend. He told me later that it was his favorite thing to do at the lake. The two big boys caught a fish, but Kaleb didn't this time. He didn't seem to mind, he was having too much fun casting & reeling in the line.
First swim of the season-(notice that it is just Dad & Kaleb, still too cold for me:)
First ride on the waverunner- My dad was letting Kaleb drive & he bumped the throttle pretty good once. He turned around to Dad & said, "Don't hit that button!"
Kaylee also got to experience the lake life for the first time. She is already becoming a lake bum like the rest of us. Here she is relaxing on the couch-
She also got to take her first boat ride & wear her swimsuit for the first time. (Not sure that she was really thrilled with the life vest, but she didn't fuss.)
We had a great weekend, but we are exhausted! Time to rest up so we can do it again soon!

all of it... cuteness... kaleb's comments are so sweet, him saying thanks about going to the party.
you are so much braver than I. I used to be a lake bum and now that I have kids I don't want them with in spitting distance of the water. ;) pools are ok, i think b/c i can see the bottom
